Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and creative Marketing Assistant to join our team in Glasgow. The ideal candidate will have a passion for marketing, an understanding of digital and traditional marketing channels, and the ability to support on executing effective marketing campaigns that drive audience engagement and elevate business growth.

In this role, you’ll be supporting the team in implementing marketing campaigns across a range of brands to drive awareness and engage with our readers online and offline, as well as assisting in wider business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with marketing core brand messages across all channels, ensuring an integrated, consistent approach and visual identity across all platforms.
  • Collaboration with editorial, creative and commercial teams to elevate the brands, increase visibility and achieve business objectives.
  • Support the marketing team to implement strategies which increase readership, subscriptions and audience engagement across digital channels.
  • Create and edit compelling content to support brand and subscription led activities, such as news stories, videos, print collateral, adverts, emails and social posts.
  • Assist with the creation, scheduling, and optimising of email campaigns to engage with readers, maintain loyalty and drive subscriptions in line with GDPR best practice.
  • Support and manage the planning, execution and evaluation of brand events.
  • Provide general administrative support including our online shop; processing orders, answering customer queries, liaising with suppliers and customer orders.
  • Budget management, tracking and reporting all spend in line with set budgets.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Degree in marketing or communications (desirable).
  • 1-2 years' experience in a marketing or communications role.
  • Strong understanding of marketing principles and practices. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, MS Teams.
  • Familiar with marketing software and tools (e.g., Content Management Systems (CMS), social media management platforms, Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems and have an awareness of data analytics and planning tools.
  • Proof reading, editorial skills.
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail, consistency and accuracy.
  • Proactive, positive approach.
